One Month Already

Oh how time flies, a month ago I was moving in! With that I want to apologize, I was planning on at least blogging once a week and to be honest I just have not gotten on my computer that much. Yesterday I actually did get on my computer and had a whole blog written up but my computer has some major issues and in the shorten version I couldn't connect to the internet and I really just need to get a new computer! 

 So the past couple of weeks we have had a pretty intense schedule, but starting to get the flow around here. We have had some really cool teachers too. Two weeks ago we had Allen and Debbie Kemp who talked about the Father Heart of God, and last week we had Reverend Royce Evans talked about the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It was really cool with have such diverse teachers and teachings. It was a really good reminder of God's diversity and how easy it is to put limits on God from what we know and yet He is so much more. This week is Holy Spirit week!!! I am super excited for this week, but it is defiantly going to be a stretching week where openness is key. :)

In the afternoons we have been given ministries down here in the West Side to build relationships with the people down here. Mondays I volunteer in the pavilion! Tuesdays we have worship practice. On Wednesday we help out with soccer at Sibley Elementary for 3rd-5th graders. Thursdays is the Rush which is for middle schoolers after school where the hope is that we culture relationships with kids down here.

We were donated 6 longboards from Sector 9

Prayer Request
1.) Praying for our community to keep growing in team work and unity!
2.) For building relationships down here with the West-Siders
3.) Vulnerability because I am very good at keeping everything in.
4.) I have been having bad headaches and just pain in my neck that end causing headaches.

Week One in Guatemala :)

This past week we send time getting acclimated to our surroundings here in Guatemala. We did a little of sight seeing and visiting places where we will be working. Sunday we went to an English church (Journey) that is in the school that Heather use to teach, Christian Academy of Guatemala (CAG). In the afternoon we went to Antigua to the markets. Worship!

This week we had Jeremiah Briggs a former worship leader come speak to us on the topic of worship! This man had a true heart of a worshiper! It was really cool to listen to him speak because he just has a genuine passion to bring glory to God! He has doesn't have a college degree in worship leading, he just taught us from what God has revealed to him through worshiping God. Worship: Submission to and dependence in the Holy Sprit to bring the Father glory through Jesus! The concept of worship is usually just the time of singing before a sermon which is a form of worship, but it is also so much more then that! Worship can be anything in your life that you are bring glory to God! It was really cool to watch this new concept sink in over the week for the community. Has it already been almost 2 year?!?

Wow, the last time that I posted was in May of 2014. A lot has happened between that time, a lot of change, a lot of transitions. Which ultimately means a lot of fun times, but a lot of hurt and grief. Some of you have stayed updated with me on my transitions, others maybe not (I am not even sure if I have kept up with myself). After the Bridge Street Mission School (BSMS), I went home for a season of rest while working at Target Starbucks :). I had a lot of coffee. During the mission school, I believe the Lord was calling be to stay in the West Side of Grand Rapids. After a couple of months home, I moved back down to Grand Rapids into the Girl's House! Fast forward to November where there were job changes and an internship is formed. I work part time for AVI Foodsystems, while doing "part" time ministry as an intern for the Bridge Street House of Prayer; I was the Pavilion Coordinator.
