Wow

Wow! This past week has been incredible! It has been really great getting to know everyone and living in community with them. There is eleven of us living in the Lincoln house.

We went camping for a couple of days in the Flat Platte River Campground, which is by Sleeping Bear Dunes. It was a great time spent in close quarters that brought us all together as we spent time finding out who each of us are and where we have come from.

After we got back we had Ryan speak to us on hearing the voice of God! We spent some time asking God who we are to Him and why He has us here? God has revealed some pretty powerful things already to all of us. It is really going to be cool to watch as each of us grow in the identity that God has spoken into us! And this week we have had the pastor from Crossroad speaking us on the overview of the Bible! It has been very neat to see the passion he has for the Bible and leaves us all fired up after class!

So yeah I am super excited to see what God has in store for each of us but also for all of us a community in the next eight months!

Week One in Guatemala :)

This past week we send time getting acclimated to our surroundings here in Guatemala. We did a little of sight seeing and visiting places where we will be working. Sunday we went to an English church (Journey) that is in the school that Heather use to teach, Christian Academy of Guatemala (CAG). In the afternoon we went to Antigua to the markets. Cemeteries in Guatemala are a lot different the US as you will see in some of the pictures. We then proceed to go to the historical district of the city where we were the only white people. Guatemala has been through a lot in the past 60 years between civil war, genocides, and corruption. Worship!

This week we had Jeremiah Briggs a former worship leader come speak to us on the topic of worship! This man had a true heart of a worshiper! It was really cool to listen to him speak because he just has a genuine passion to bring glory to God! He has doesn't have a college degree in worship leading, he just taught us from what God has revealed to him through worshiping God. Worship: Submission to and dependence in the Holy Sprit to bring the Father glory through Jesus! The concept of worship is usually just the time of singing before a sermon which is a form of worship, but it is also so much more then that! Worship can be anything in your life that you are bring glory to God! It was really cool to watch this new concept sink in over the week for the community. In the beginning of the week Jeremiah challenged us to think back to our first memory of worship and also where we have seen a true worshiper.  And I thought of this guy for both :)  And as we talked about worship i

Has it already been almost 2 year?!?

Wow, the last time that I posted was in May of 2014. A lot has happened between that time, a lot of change, a lot of transitions. Which ultimately means a lot of fun times, but a lot of hurt and grief. Some of you have stayed updated with me on my transitions, others maybe not (I am not even sure if I have kept up with myself). After the Bridge Street Mission School (BSMS), I went home for a season of rest while working at Target Starbucks :). I had a lot of coffee. During the mission school, I believe the Lord was calling be to stay in the West Side of Grand Rapids. After a couple of months home, I moved back down to Grand Rapids into the Girl's House! Fast forward to November where there were job changes and an internship is formed. I work part time for AVI Foodsystems, while doing "part" time ministry as an intern for the Bridge Street House of Prayer; I was the Pavilion Coordinator.
